Clare
Dover - now a hamlet, but was the first village, sawmill, several
stores, a post-office and a school established soon after the Civil War.
Harrison
Farwell - was the first county seat, from l871 to l877, when a
suspected arsonist burned the courthouse. In 1879 the Board of Supervisors
voted to move the county seat to Harrison.
